THE POET, THE SCHOLAR

39 year old Edwin Moses is a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, motivational speaker, community activist, poet, singer-songwriter, Real Estate investor/licensed general contractor, father and loving husband. Edwin is a member of Bruce George’s (Co-founder of HBO Def Poetry Jam) Ebony Energy Talent Network. & Ebony Energy Talent Network  which includes a Speakers Bureau/Talent Network including Dr. Sonia Sanchez, Nikki Giovanni, The Last Poets, Umi Smith, Tray Chaney (HBO’s the Wire), Georgia Me(HBO’s Def Poetry))etc. Moses brings his positive message to the world through spoken word. “I was going through some very tough trials. My brother Brandon had just been killed by the Police in North Port Fla. in June of 2000. I made some immature mistakes and got incarcerated for a while. The only way for me to fight back was with words. So I picked up a notebook and the Ghetto Wisdom story began.” 
Edwin Moses’ message has been spreading across the country. Moses has given motivational speeches in schools, churches and prisons throughout northeast Ohio and Florida. In 2006, Edwin Moses’ band Ghetto Wisdom made a huge splash on the Cleveland Music Scene. Performing at the House of Blues Cleveland and the West Side Market Summer Series. His Album “The Welfare Poet,” was nominated top ten independents from Cleveland in 2007(CoolCleveland.Com) He has featured at spoken word venues across the East Coast. In 2007 Edwin Moses was featured at Cuyahoga Community College’s “wi-fi café” and the Crooked River Groove television show. The live “wi-fi” performance was chosen to be distributed through Tri-C’s Crooked River Groove record label. Edwin Moses’ newest album “The Art of Love in Times of War” has special guest appearances by Stic.Man of the internationally-acclaimed rap duo Dead Prez. Young RAY(Capitol), Stacie R. Crawford (background vocalist w/ Anthony Hamilton), Carlos Jones(P.L.U.S Band), BeLoyd Taylor (singer-songwriter with Earth, Wind & Fire), Hardstone(Kenya). Mike Calhoun (DAZZ BAND),Joey V. of the Stereotypes(Foxxy Brown, Chino XL), DJ Phatty Banks(Young Ray, Ray Cash) and Justin Bendo(50 Cent, Xzibit, Nine Inch Nails, Filter.) “The Art of Love in Times of War” is a hip hop/rock album that tells the story of a hardworking, blue collar guy in an unforgiving and uncertain post 9/11 world.
